I’d like to speak to how the tariff and immigration situations are personally impacting me as a small business owner in Oregon. In the past month I have had cancellations of client visits to the US because they are afraid of being unlawfully detained at the border. These are long time clients who have prepaid for recreational retreats who would. rather lose the money than travel to the US. I also have personally lost thousands of dollars as the exchange rate with Europe has plummeted, impacting my profits from Europe based retreats so non-US clients are afraid to travel to work with me and I can’t make as much money as I used to to travel abroad to offer my services. These issues impact everyone in ways that sometimes aren’t obvious, and I am looking to you to fight harder to make these real life examples more prominent in your messaging. Some people need to see exactly how these things can impact them and their neighbors.
