Demand Congressional transparency, accountability on potential Iran conflict

To: Sen. Fetterman, Sen. McCormick, Rep. Deluzio

From: A constituent in Pittsburgh, PA

June 19

The escalating tensions between the United States and Iran are deeply concerning and raise the risk of armed conflict that could have grave consequences for both nations and the broader region. The American people deserve transparency from their elected officials on this critical issue. Every member of Congress should be compelled to clearly state their stance on the possibility of war with Iran. The public has a right to know if their representatives are willing to commit American forces to another protracted military engagement in the Middle East or if they favor resolving differences with Iran through diplomatic channels and economic pressure. A matter of such magnitude, with the potential for tremendous loss of life and destabilization, cannot be decided without the voices of the citizens being heard through their representatives in Congress. Unambiguous statements from lawmakers are imperative to ensure the democratic process is upheld on this pivotal foreign policy decision impacting the nation's security and global standing. The American people must not be left in the dark as this crisis unfolds.
