While it has since been rescinded, this decision endangered programs that provide food, housing, education, and critical services to millions of Americans, including programs like food production and support for small-scale farms. This action would hurt small businesses and consumers alike. Federal funds should never be used as a political weapon. Even considering this directive caused harm to our community, and the possibility of future potential freezes on federal funding threatens jobs and weakens local economies. I urge you to ensure that essential funding is not compromised now or in the future.
