I am writing as your constituent in Springdale to express my strong opposition to any U.S. military action against Iran, especially in the form of preemptive airstrikes targeting nuclear facilities. Calls for such action—whether proposed independently or pushed by foreign governments—represent a dangerous and unacceptable path that risks drawing us into another unnecessary and prolonged conflict in the Middle East. I am deeply concerned that the United States continues to allow the interests of foreign nations, including Israel, to heavily influence our foreign policy decisions. While I support Israel’s right to defend itself, American lives, resources, and credibility should not be sacrificed on its behalf or at its urging. We have already paid too high a price from wars in Iraq and Afghanistan—both financially and in terms of human suffering. There is no immediate threat to the U.S. homeland from Iran that would justify such action. A strike would almost certainly trigger retaliation against U.S. personnel and allies, ignite proxy warfare, disrupt global oil supply, and escalate tensions with nuclear-armed states like Russia. This is not in America’s national interest. Our focus must be on diplomacy, containment, and regional stability—not regime change or nation-building. If military action is ever to be considered, it must come only with full congressional debate and authorization—not by executive fiat or foreign pressure. I urge you to take a public stand against any unauthorized military strike on Iran and to uphold Congress’s constitutional authority over war powers. The American people are tired of endless wars and deserve leaders who act in our interests, not at the behest of others.
