I am writing to demand that the House of Representatives immediately open an impeachment inquiry into Stephen Miller, Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy.
While Mr. Miller holds a White House staff title, his actions demonstrate that he is functioning as a de facto Civil Officer of the United States, wielding executive authority that supersedes Senate-confirmed agency heads. He is reportedly the direct architect of the unconstitutional directives currently being executed by the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security.
An unelected, unconfirmed advisor cannot be allowed to bypass the checks and balances of our Republic to implement policies that violate civil rights and the Constitution. By exercising this level of authority, he has subjected himself to congressional oversight and the remedy of impeachment.
Congress must not allow the Executive Branch to shield dangerous conduct by hiding it behind a staff title. I expect you to challenge this "shadow governance" and move to impeach and remove Stephen Miller for his abuse of power and violation of his oath to the Constitution.
