The Democratic caucus must hold the Trump administration accountable for its corruption — and that requires replacing Hakeem Jeffries with leadership that will actually fight. His "haven't ruled anything in, haven't ruled anything out" posture isn't a strategy. It's weakness. The crooks need to be held accountable, and Jeffries is too weak to do it. The corruption is not abstract. Trump family wealth has exploded since January 2025. Donald Trump Jr.'s wedding was partly bankrolled by a Russian oligarch with reported Kremlin ties. Cabinet officials like Pete Hegseth already face impeachment articles. Rep. Jamie Raskin called these issues "gargantuan" and promised to zero in on systemic corruption that has cost the public enormous sums. That's the energy this moment demands. Democrats have the roadmap: oversight investigations into Trump business dealings, ICE abuses, the Epstein files, and foreign entanglements. The tools exist. Elevate leaders like Raskin, Garcia, and Huffman who have shown they'll subpoena, put witnesses under oath, and follow the evidence wherever it leads. Jeffries needs to step aside and let fighters lead.
