Prioritize spending on people, not military action

To: Sen. Husted, Rep. Davidson, Sen. Moreno

From: A constituent in Cincinnati, OH

March 12

This administration is spending massive funds bombing Iran, a decision made without Congress speaking for the people. $3.7 billion dollars was spent in the first 100 hours of fighting. $11.3 billion was spent in the first six days. The estimated military spending is $890 million to $1 billion dollars a day. Our country is currently $38.8 trillion dollars in debt. Continuing this spending is not fiscally responsible. It is imperative that Congress work to spend taxpayer money on things needed for the people paying the taxes. This includes housing, education, infrastructure, healthcare and food security. For example, a few billion dollars could fund tens of thousands of affordable housing units. I urge you to stop spending on war in the Middle East and concentrate on fixing the housing, education, infrastructure, education and food security issues.
