Every day, a large, noisy, polluting trash truck drives through my neighborhood. Neighbors have various trash services, so it's daily.
In every city and state I've lived in before, trash was either included in local taxes or collectively bargained for a single service per neighborhood. One trash day, one day of trash trucks.
We should be doing this in Denver metro for various reasons: air pollution, noise pollution, trash out daily tempting bears and wildlife, and aesthetics.
A trash truck going through every neighborhood for one or two houses is wasteful, disorganized and kind of ridiculous. And let's face it, we're all paying about the same anyway.
Streamline, organize and bargain for neighborhood or city trash pickup. Save the air, clear the noise, and stop tempting wildlife and losing trash to windstorms.
