The establishment of a White House faith office led by a specific pastor risks promoting Christian nationalist views and marginalizing other religious and non-religious perspectives. As public servants, we must uphold religious neutrality and protect the religious liberty of all Americans by avoiding policies that elevate one faith tradition above others or discriminate against minority faiths and non-believers. I urge restraint in establishing such an office that could undermine true religious freedom by entangling government with the promotion of certain beliefs.
