Protect Kansas Citizens from the Gestapo

To: Sen. Corson, Gov. Kelly, Rep. Stogsdill

From: A constituent in Prairie Village, KS

January 24

Protect Kansas citizens from secret-policing tactics and unchecked enforcement. No agency should operate with broad authority that enables intimidation, surveillance, or detention without transparency and due process. History shows that when government power goes unchecked, civil liberties erode and innocent people are harmed. Kansas must reject any approach that mirrors secret-police behavior—fear-based enforcement, lack of oversight, and disregard for constitutional rights. Protecting Kansans means insisting on clear limits, strong oversight, and full accountability for any enforcement activity within our communities. It means safeguarding due process, opposing mass detention and raids, and ensuring that local institutions are not coerced into federal enforcement roles that undermine trust and public safety. I urge you to defend the rights and dignity of Kansas residents by blocking policies and funding that enable abusive enforcement and by advancing humane, constitutional alternatives that keep communities safe without sacrificing freedom.
