I am writing to ask you once again to call for the replacement of the Senate Democratic leadership. The last few days have been filled with interviews from Chuck Schumer showing that he has literally no self awareness of how angry people are about the CR vote. His interviews have also made it clear that he has no intention to change his course of capitulation, nor does he have any real plans to stop Republicans. He seems to think that we can just wait it out. Meanwhile, ICE is disappearing people and countries are warning people not to come here. The government is performing a systematic purge of history involving anyone who isn't white, including erasing MoH honorees and Navajo code talkers. Ukraine is being thrown to the wolves and Elon Musk is pillaging the government and destroying our security in order to cement their power. Every day this gets worse, and Chuck Schumer and the rest of those in leadership seem to think they can wait 2 years and win the midterms. In 2 years, even if Democrats manage to win the midterms, government will be gutted. Vital programs like NIH and EPA research will be destroyed. The morale of our military will be shattered knowing their leadership doesn't care about our service members. Our economy will be a shambles and seniors like my father will be hanging on by a thread if at all. Is that the legacy you want to leave? I realize your colleague Sen. Durbin is also on the leadership, but he also needs to go. It is clear he supports this do-nothing approach. As a disabled veteran and a woman of color, I know you have seen the effects of policies like these first hand. I hope, like me, you realize we cannot wait. You and the other senators who realize now is the time to fight must make your case, in public if necessary. Schumer has lost the confidence of the party. As long as he and his like-minded senators are in control, we will not be able to stop the destruction of our critical institutions. Please raise your voice and demand Senate Democratic leadership step aside for leaders who will fight for us.
