Investigate Supreme Court justices' impartiality and radical ideology

To: Rep. Thompson, Sen. Butler, Sen. Padilla

From: A constituent in Santa Rosa, CA

May 25

Revelations that Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito had an upside-down American flag, a symbol of insurrection, flown at his home after the January 6th attacks are deeply troubling. According to Robert Reich, Alito's second "flag" is even more alarming - his recent opinion overturning decades of precedent protecting abortion rights. This radical move undermining established freedoms exhibits a willingness to overturn long-held constitutional principles based on personal ideology. Combined with Justice Clarence Thomas's wife's efforts to overturn legitimate election results, these justices appear to openly embrace insurrectionist aims and show disqualifying bias incompatible with the duties of a fair judiciary. To restore faith in the Supreme Court's independence and commitment to the rule of law, Congress has grounds to seriously consider impeachment proceedings against Alito and Thomas for failing to uphold "good behavior" as required by the Constitution.
