Trump Called Two American Cities Expendable. What Are You Going to Do About It?

You need to hold the president accountable for what he said in Nebraska on Monday. Standing before a cheering crowd, Trump said "let them take out Los Angeles, let them take out San Diego" — two American cities, one of which is home to Naval Base San Diego, the principal homeport of the U.S. Pacific Fleet. This wasn't a gaffe. The crowd cheered, and he kept going.
Los Angeles is the second-most populous city in the United States. Treating its residents as acceptable casualties isn't tough foreign policy talk — it's a president publicly dismissing his constitutional duty to protect American lives. Even Republican congressional candidate Jim Desmond, a Navy veteran, said it plainly: "No American city is expendable, and no American family should ever be treated as collateral damage."
Whether that means pursuing impeachment, invoking the 25th Amendment, or using every oversight tool available to you, I expect you to act. Silence is a choice too, and right now it looks like complicity.
