Subject: Stop Illegal Campaigning on Federal Websites Today, I went to the U.S. Forest Service website and was shocked by what I saw. A pop-up message appeared that read: “The Radical Left Democrats shut down the government. This government website will be updated periodically during the funding lapse for mission critical functions. President Trump has made it clear he wants to keep the government open and support those who feed, fuel, and clothe the American people.” This is blatantly illegal political campaigning on a federal government website. Federal agencies are supposed to serve all Americans, not be weaponized to deliver partisan propaganda. Using taxpayer-funded platforms to spread political messaging is a violation of both the Hatch Act and the most basic principles of democratic governance. It is unacceptable that our government’s public-facing websites are being turned into campaign billboards. This is not only inappropriate — it is authoritarian. It erodes public trust in our institutions, blurs the line between government service and political power, and sets a dangerous precedent that must not be allowed to continue. I urge you to: • Demand that this content be removed immediately from all federal websites. • Investigate how and why this political messaging was placed on an official agency site. • Hold accountable those who authorized or enabled this misuse of government resources. The American people deserve a government that serves us all equally, not one that uses its resources to attack political opponents and promote a single leader. Please act now to restore integrity to our institutions.
