Stop a president who thinks he's a king

To: Sen. Padilla, Rep. Panetta, Sen. Schiff

From: A verified voter in Ben Lomond, CA

February 3

I am writing as a citizen who believes the Kennedy Center belongs to the public, not to any one president. The Center was created by Congress as a living memorial to President John F. Kennedy. That meaning is not cosmetic. A sweeping renovation or prolonged closure without clear congressional approval undermines the purpose you were entrusted to protect. I demand that you stop a president who thinks he's a king. Block any federal funding for this project until Congress formally reviews and authorizes it. Hold oversight hearings on the scope, funding sources, and legality of the renovation. Reassert in law that major alterations to the Kennedy Center require congressional consent. Do your job.
