Vote in Favor of war powers resolution

To: Sen. Fetterman, Sen. McCormick

From: A constituent in Lederach, PA

June 22

I'm writing to strongly urge you to vote in favor of the Iran war powers resolution introduced by Senator Kaine. I’m a member of the Church of the Brethren, a historic peace church, and I do not support the United States entering the war between Israel and Iran, which would escalate the violence more, cause further devastating civilian harm, and potentially lead to a long and costly war. Congress must take action to de-escalate this conflict and prioritize diplomacy. By ensuring that any military action against Iran must undergo deliberation and a vote in Congress, the war powers resolution is an important first step in reducing the chance of a destructive war. My faith motivates me to speak out against violence, and for this reason I strongly urge you to vote in favor of the Iran war powers resolution. Thank you for your consideration of this urgent resolution.
