Say N0 To The Drilling Onslaught Near The Grand Canyon I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposal to lease 209,000 acres for oil and gas drilling in the Grand Canyon region. We should not be expanding access to public lands for drilling. Your proposal puts industry profits first and severely threatens clean water, wildlife habitat, and recreation. With parcels located less than one mile from the Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument, this plan sets a dangerous precedent for industrializing the doorsteps of our national treasures. Drilling here would cause irreversible loss to the area’s geological history and our country’s conservation legacy, and threaten cultural, spiritual, and historical connections to these lands that are important to numerous Tribal Nations and Indigenous communities. I urge the BLM to protect our public lands and withdraw these parcels from any future lease sales. Please prioritize protecting these iconic, world renowned landscapes, threatened and endangered wildlife, Tribal resources, and outdoor recreation opportunities for current and future generations. A Constituent Disgusted With The Way Republicans Are Throwing Away Democracy, And Returning The Country Back To An Age Of Racism & Poverty Of The Dark Ages.
