NO on HR 3195 - “Superior National Forest Restoration Act”

To: Rep. Eshoo

From: A verified voter in Saratoga, CA

May 1

Today I take pen in hand to write and urge you to VOTE No on HR 3195, the deceptively named Superior National Forest Restoration Act. This bill would actually reverse a decision to protect 225-thousand acres near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in Minnesota. The real intent would be to reinstate canceled mining leases. Secretary of the Interior Deb Harland signed an order protecting this area in 2022 for at least two years. The area is one of the most visited wilderness areas, and the danger to it would be from environmentally damaging copper mining. Clearly Representative Pete Stauber ignored the 17-thousand public comments made in 2022 in support of the protection order. Therefore I urge you to vote NO on HR 3195, and deliver it back to Representative Staubers’ wastebasket where it belongs. Thank you.
