Hello,
I'm writing to Congress to ask them have the FCC reconsider its ban on foreign made routers and networking equipment, as doing so will not only limit consumer choice, but will also raise the price of said equipment, with the risk of people getting priced out of equipment that's needed in order to remain connected to the online world.
Instead of a blanket ban, Congress instead should come up with ways to strengthen our security posture (with the consultation of privacy and Security Experts.), so that people's data remains safe, no matter which router or other networking equipment a person chooses to use. I believe that we can have security without limiting customer choice, and causing unnecessary financial pain in an already painful economy.
Blanket bans do not solve security issues, instead, it erases competition, and raises the prices of existing routers if they are U.S only made.
