Impeach Supreme Court Justices for Gutting Voting Rights Act

To: Sen. Moreno, Sen. Husted, Rep. Joyce

From: A constituent in Willoughby, OH

May 7

I am calling on you to immediately begin impeachment proceedings under Article 2 Section 4 against the six Supreme Court justices who voted to gut Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act in Robinson v. Ardoin. This decision is unconstitutional, racist, and a betrayal of their oath to defend the Constitution. These justices have committed treason against American democracy. They attended Donald Trump's state dinner and then delivered a ruling that serves his political interests by making it easier to suppress Black and brown voters. This is corruption in plain sight. Section 2 was the last nationwide protection against discriminatory voting maps after the Court's 2013 Shelby County decision, and now they have eliminated that too. Black voters in Louisiana and across the country will lose fair representation because of this decision. Janai Nelson of the Legal Defense Fund called it "the height of hypocrisy" that "exemplifies the Court's waning credibility on matters of civil rights and racial justice." She is right. This Court has become illegitimate. You must also pursue impeachment of Donald Trump for his role in influencing this decision. The most corrupt Supreme Court in American history requires the most aggressive response. Impeach, convict, and remove them now.
