A recent announcement that an Abu Dhabi state firm will conduct a $2B deal in Trump Coin is a clear violation of Foreign Emoluments Clause of US Constitution. In his prior administration, Trump's own lawyers agreed that the president is subject to this clause, as documented in Congressional analysis of the topic: Link to reference https://constitution.congress.gov/browse/essay/artI-S9-C8-3/ALDE_00013206/#ALDF_00020510 While Trump was voted out of office before the relavent Emoluments cases could reach their conclusion, we nonetheless know more now than we did then. There is no reasonable or rational excuse for this deal to be conducted in Trump Coin, except to gift Trump with the processing fees for the deal: an emolument. Trump Coin is not more convenient than the US Dollar, nor more private than BitCoin or any other Crypto. In fact, Trump Coin is less convenient than traditional Crypto currency, as it is newer and less well established in markets. The foreign state simply wishes to gift Trump processing fees, and lend credence to his young venture, both of which are clear attempts to curry favor. This is absolutely, unequivocally, a clear violation of the US Constitution which you have sworn to defend from all enemies Foreign and Domestic. Trump laid the groundwork for this form of emolument when he launched a crypto coin immediately prior to inauguration, so he has no plausible deniability. The American people deserve to see Articles of Impeachment including at minimum this violation of the Emoluments Clause in the next days. Trump has made it clear he intends to violate the constitution, laws of the United States, and every ethical and moral assumption our country has relied upon. You should have, or should immediately write, an Articles of Impeachment template that is ready to submit immediately after every violation he conducts. Perhaps if his sycophants are forced to vote against Impeachment at the pace he subjects the people to his flagrant violations of law, they may wake up. Hope springs eternal, if only to spite Trump.
