Our federal workforce is vital to the functioning of our government and the services it provides to citizens. The planned widespread layoffs and dismantling of agencies like the Department of Education are deeply concerning. Drastically cutting the workforce will significantly undermine the ability of these agencies to fulfill their statutory mandates and responsibilities and support the American people and communities. Instead of pursuing indiscriminate cuts, we should be supporting and investing in our dedicated federal employees. They work tirelessly to implement policies, oversee programs, and ensure government operations run smoothly for the benefit of all Americans. Slashing their ranks will only breed inefficiency, hamper effectiveness, and disrupt continuity across the federal government. I urge you to reconsider these misguided workforce reduction plans. Our federal agencies require adequate staffing and resources to properly serve the public interest and operate effectively. Decimating these personnel is ultimately detrimental to our democracy and the people you represent. Please prioritize supporting our public servants over arbitrary downsizing that does more harm than good.
