The “Big Beautiful Bill” already shoved $75 billion into ICE. Now another $10 billion is on the table. This is absurd. Today, ICE is lawless, unaccountable, and untrainable. As long as Trump is in office, it will stay that way. This type of violence serves Trump’s agenda: silence and scare Americans who disagree with him. I hear Democrats puffing up “guardrails.” Here’s what that looks like in real life. In a federal abuse case reported by 404 Media involving the Broadview ICE detention center in Illinois, DHS/ICE was required to produce surveillance video evidence from inside the facility. DHS first claimed nearly two weeks of footage was “irretrievably destroyed,” then blamed a “system crash,” then claimed the “critical footage” was never recorded. DHS said it was relying on its vendor — a one-person company called Five by Five — to try to recover it. Gross incompetence or following orders — doesn’t matter. Justice won’t be served. There are a hundred ways for ICE to “comply” on paper while defeating your guardrails in practice, and Broadview proves it. There will be no oversight. Given Democrats’ 0% track record on accountability (Jan 6, Epstein), I have zero confidence that guardrails will matter. Please vote NO on any bill that includes the additional $10B for ICE. And beyond that: defund and abolish ICE as it exists today, and rebuild something lawful with real oversight.
