I am writing as a deeply concerned constituent to demand immediate action regarding the ongoing and systemic abuses committed by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The continued killing, detention, and mistreatment of innocent civilians under the authority of this agency is unacceptable, immoral, and fundamentally incompatible with the values of a democratic society.
ICE has repeatedly demonstrated a pattern of behavior that violates core constitutional principles, including the Fourth and Fifth Amendments, by engaging in unlawful searches and seizures, racial profiling, warrantless arrests, denial of due process, and the indefinite detention of individuals without adequate legal protections. These are not isolated incidents—they represent a sustained erosion of civil liberties under the guise of “enforcement.”
No agency that routinely disregards the Constitution it claims to serve should continue to receive public funding. Taxpayer dollars should not be used to support an organization that operates with such broad impunity, lacks meaningful oversight, and causes irreparable harm to families and communities across this country.
The United States was founded on the principle that all people are entitled to basic human rights and legal protections. When a federal agency systematically violates those rights—especially through violence and lethal force—it is not only failing its mission, it is actively undermining the rule of law.
I urge you to take a clear and public stance:
• Support the defunding and dismantling of ICE in its current form.
• Oppose any further budget increases for ICE.
• Advocate for immigration policies rooted in due process, transparency, and human dignity.
History will not look kindly on leaders who remained silent while constitutional rights were stripped away in the name of enforcement. I expect my elected officials to defend the Constitution, not enable agencies that repeatedly violate it.
