Israel receives $3.8 billion annually in military aid from the United States, more than any other country. This funding is used to purchase weapons and military equipment that enable the oppression of Palestinians through home demolitions, detention of children, restrictions on movement, and occupation. Now is the time for Congress to uphold human rights and international law by ceasing this military aid that fuels violence and subjugation. Facilitating ongoing violations of Palestinian rights is complicity in injustice. Redirect these funds towards peacebuilding, diplomacy, and humanitarian relief to resolve this crisis through nonviolent means aligned with democratic values.
