Urging Support for Data Center Accountability & Oversight Bills

To: Sen. Blackshear, Rep. Tims, Gov. DeWine

From: A verified voter in Dayton, OH

February 14

I am writing to urge you to support the newly proposed slate of bills aimed at regulating data centers in Ohio. As a resident, I am concerned about the strain these facilities place on our electrical grid and water resources. It is unfair for residential ratepayers to potentially face rate hikes to subsidize the massive infrastructure needs of trillion-dollar tech companies. I ask that you support legislation to: * Require data centers to pay the full cost of their own grid and transmission upgrades. * Mandate transparency in water usage and protect our local aquifers. * Restore "home rule" so local communities have a say in development. * Re-evaluate tax exemptions that are not delivering long-term economic benefits to our state. Please co-sponsor and pass this package of bills to protect Ohio ratepayers and resources.
