Elon Musk – who has not been elected to any office – is apparently calling the shots and Trump and House Republicans are just falling in line, withdrawing support for the deal and replacing it with a hyperpartisan bill that cuts funding for things like combatting childhood cancer and tossed in a debt ceiling increase to fund Trump’s tax cuts for the ultra-rich. Your Republican caucus is in such chaos that you can’t pass this deal with your own House majority, so now, you’re threatening to shut down the government unless Democrats give in to your little Twitter tantrum and bail you out. We see you. This is unacceptable. House Republicans must pass a bipartisan bill and keep the government open, not follow the whims of an unelected billionaire.
