Vote NO on SB1062 (Carter Act)

To: Gov. Kehoe, Sen. Hough, Rep. Riley

From: A verified voter in Springfield, MO

February 14

I urge you to vote NO on SB1062, the so-called “Hope Missouri Act.” This bill creates the appearance of support without providing real funding, forcing existing state employees to absorb new responsibilities with no new resources. That is not investment. It is bureaucracy without substance. The bill also blurs the line between church and state by directing people to faith-based organizations and creates harmful barriers by requiring proof of citizenship, which will discourage vulnerable families from seeking help. Missouri families need real, adequately funded public programs, not an under-resourced hotline wrapped in good intentions. Please reject SB1062 and support legislation that delivers direct, accessible aid to all Missourians.
