I am writing to express my deep concern about the current state of our government and the increasing disregard for the rule of law. It seems we are witnessing an administration that bypasses legal constraints, challenges the authority of the judicial branch, and stretches executive power beyond what many would have considered possible just a decade ago.
Too often, we hear people say, “They can’t do that—it’s against the law,” as if legality alone will prevent overreach. But the reality we’re living in suggests otherwise. Laws only function when those in power respect them, and when violations are met with real consequences. Right now, it appears that accountability is being eroded, and the normal checks and balances are under siege.
What is being done to ensure that laws are not just words on paper but are actively enforced? How do we protect the integrity of our institutions when those in power seem willing to ignore or rewrite the rules as they go? It is imperative that Congress takes a firm stand to uphold constitutional principles and prevent further erosion of our democratic system.
I urge you to speak out and take decisive action. This is not a partisan issue; it is a fundamental question of whether we still have a government that operates under the law or one that bends the law to suit its own agenda.
I look forward to your response and to seeing meaningful action taken to uphold the rule of law.
