Reject Sec. 244 of the House Appropriations Committee’s Fiscal Year 2026 The proposed section violates our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Consenting adults should not be limited by their government to make changes to their bodies. Our bodies do not belong to the government, but to ourselves, and limiting funds to allow consenting adults to make changes is a drastic overreach of the government. It infringes on private lives of Americans. We are supposed to be free, not freedom with severe limitations. This section would cause irreparable harm mentally, physically, and emotionally to a vulnerable minority group. Please have a heart and reject this proposal.
