I write to you today to request you regulate e-bikes. They have swept the state and are an absolute menace to pedestrians and vehicles. Require a driver's license to operate them. Require they be registered with the DMV. Require insurance, tail lights, brake lights, turn signals, mirrors and headlights. Authorize the forcible seizure and recycling of any bike out of compliance with the new rules. We have already had one person killed here in Amsterdam, NY. How many more will need to die before you act?
