Enough is Enough – Stop Trump’s Illegal Overreach or Step Aside

To: Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Moran

From: A constituent in Kilgore, TX

March 15

I am writing to demand immediate action against President Trump’s blatant, unconstitutional power grab. If Congress refuses to act, then what exactly are you there for? If you continue to sit on your hands while this administration slashes jobs, cancels programs YOU approved, and defunds critical agencies without legal authority, then let’s be clear: there is no reason for voters to keep you in office. This Is an Attack on Congress and the American People This is not just about Trump—it’s about whether you are willing to do your job and defend the very institution you were elected to serve. Right now, this administration is trampling all over Congress’ constitutional power by: • Firing federal employees en masse with no legal justification, gutting essential government functions. • Canceling programs that Congress already funded, overriding the legislative branch’s authority. • Defunding Voice of America and other U.S.-funded media, attacking press freedom and controlling public information. • Dismantling agencies through Elon Musk’s “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE), even though Congress never authorized it. These illegal moves directly defy the Constitution and strip Congress of its rightful role. And yet, where is the response? Where is the backbone? Why are you letting this happen? Congress’ Silence is Cowardice The entire Texas delegation in the U.S. House is up for election in 2026. So is the Class II Senate seat. If you continue to let Trump destroy Congressional authority, then why should we waste our votes on you? If you won’t fight for your own power, for our democracy, and for the people who elected you, then step aside and let someone else do it. We Demand Action—Now 1. Block Trump’s attempt to illegally defund programs and fire federal employees without Congressional approval. 2. Hold immediate hearings on DOGE’s unconstitutional role in gutting federal agencies. 3. Introduce emergency legislation ensuring no president can override Congress’ funding decisions. 4. Use every tool at your disposal—investigations, legal challenges, subpoenas—to stop this dangerous overreach. Your inaction is an endorsement of dictatorship. The American people will not forget who let this happen. You either stand up for the Constitution—or get out of the way for someone who will.
