Protect Journalists! Pass the PRESS Act today!

Dear Senator, Earlier this year, the House unanimously passed the PRESS Act to protect journalists from being forced to disclose their sources. This bipartisan bill will help to ensure that journalists and the media can continue to play a vital watchdog role, holding our government accountable. This is extremely important to do, regardless of who or what party is in power. I know that we will continue to see aggressive and deterrent government action against journalists who use confidential sources to bring critical information to light if we don’t enshrine the protections provided by the PRESS Act into law ASAP! The PRESS Act addresses critical First Amendment issues that will strengthen our democracy and a free press. Please support the PRESS Act, and help ensure that it becomes law this year. Please urge the Majority leader to bring this act to a vote on the floor ASAP. Thank you for your attention on this very important matter.
