I strongly oppose weakening the Equal Credit Opportunity Act or it’s enforcement under regulation B. As a consumer, I know discrimination today often shows up through systems and policies, not explicit statements. Standards like disparate impact are essential to identifying unfair outcomes, even when intent is denied. Credit access affects housing, transportation, healthcare, and basic stability. Weakening these protections will disproportionately harm vulnerable populations. I urge you to maintain robust fair lending enforcement and protect the purpose of ECOA.
