Greetings. I wish to express my consternation in regards to the cell phone ban in the schools. This past Thursday I went to HISD Westside HS for an after school rehearsal (30 minute commute) only to find that the student in question sent me a message whilst I was still on the road that he was unable to have this rehearsal. This certainly irritated me especially because I was slightly under the weather that day. This problem would have been avoided, much fuel conserved likewise especially in the current climate of inflation, if students were able to have cell phones during the school day for just such purposes.
