Reject the 47% Cut to NASA Science and Fully Fund JPL

To: Sen. Schiff, Sen. Padilla, Rep. Chu

From: A constituent in Pasadena, CA

April 7

I'm asking you to reject the proposed 47% cut to NASA Science in the FY 2027 budget and ensure full funding for NASA and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. This budget proposal would cancel 40 or more space missions and eliminate critical programs at the exact moment NASA just flew astronauts to the Moon for the first time in 50 years. Gutting the science budget now abandons major space projects already under construction and undermines the ambitious exploration plans Administrator Isaacman has outlined. JPL and NASA science programs drive innovation, create high-skilled jobs, and maintain America's leadership in space exploration. Congress demonstrated overwhelming bipartisan support for NASA in the FY 2026 budget, providing $24.4 billion and rejecting similar cuts proposed last year. The science community, aerospace industry, and constituents across every congressional district depend on stable NASA funding. These cuts are as shortsighted now as they were when Congress rejected them before. Protect NASA Science funding and keep America at the forefront of space exploration.
