DHS Secretary must testify about allegations of abuse neglect and due process.

To: Sen. Hawley, Sen. Schmitt, Rep. Wagner

From: A constituent in High Ridge, MO

April 14

I am unhappy with the way ICE and Border Control agents are treating detainees and US citizens under their care. Daily reporting of them not receiving needed medical care from injuries sustained during arrest. Frequent transfers to avoid due process rights over crowding with poor sanitation in detention centers. I noticed that none of the Congress persons who represent me are holding town halls. I would appreciate if you would do some oversight visits to detention centers and get to the bottom of these allegations. Everyone in the US whether they are citizens or not are untitled to due process under their law. DHS’s new secretary needs to testify under oath that he is holding is agents to the standards set under law and that he is not allowing transfers to avoid legal representation. I agree with Democrates that no further funding of ICE will be approved unless they are held to the same standards and training as law enforcement. They have plenty of funding already and they appear to be breaking the law with what they have. Make the Secretary of DHS testify about this department under oath.
