Support candidates who refuse PAC money and run on fresh ideas. The old guard, those career politicians who have built their careers on donor loyalty and special interest cash, have had their chance. Large political action committees funnel money into campaigns, drown out ordinary constituents, and reward incumbents who play along.
When elected officials rely on PAC funding, their policy priorities follow the money. I want representation that starts with a clean slate, free from the obligations that come with accepting that kind of cash. Candidates who self-impose that limit have already proven something important about how they intend to govern.
Fresh thinking and financial independence from special interests are not luxuries. They are the baseline I expect from anyone asking for my vote.
