Trump claimed that Charlie Kirk was a “beloved friend,” yet he personally chose to skip the Kennedy Center memorial service to golf at his own resort. This is not the action of someone mourning a close friend; it is a cynical display of self-interest disguised as loyalty. Such behavior highlights a pattern of dishonesty and opportunism that too often goes unchallenged. Furthermore, the exaggerated outrage by conservative media and political figures over Kirk’s death is an example of faked victimhood. Hours of airtime and social media attention have been devoted to elevating the death of one man while ongoing national crises—school shootings, rising inequality, and threats to democratic norms—receive minimal coverage. This selective moral outrage manipulates public emotion and distracts from real, pressing issues facing Americans every day. It is deeply concerning that leaders and public officials allow this type of behavior to go unaddressed. Your office has a responsibility to call out these abuses, to hold public figures accountable, and to prioritize issues that genuinely affect the lives of constituents.
