Support Telework Flexibility for Federal Employees

I am writing to express my support for restoring and protecting telework flexibility for federal employees during the current rise in fuel and commuting costs.
As gas prices continue increasing across the country, many federal workers are facing significant financial pressure simply trying to get to work each day. Requiring employees to commute full-time when many positions can be performed effectively remotely creates unnecessary hardship for working families.
Telework has already proven successful in maintaining productivity while reducing commuting expenses, traffic congestion, and environmental impact. It also improves employee retention, morale, and accessibility for workers with disabilities or long commutes.
I support the National Treasury Employees Union’s call for immediate telework flexibility and believe Congress should encourage federal agencies to adopt practical, cost-saving workplace policies that benefit both employees and taxpayers.
Federal employees have continued serving the public through changing conditions and deserve policies that reflect economic realities. Allowing expanded telework where operationally appropriate is a reasonable and responsible solution.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
