I am writing as a concerned citizen regarding ongoing public concerns about government transparency, accountability, and public trust. Many Americans across the political spectrum have expressed frustration regarding the handling and release of records associated with the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. Regardless of political affiliation, the public deserves confidence that investigations involving individuals with wealth, power, or influence are conducted fairly and transparently. I respectfully urge lawmakers to support the release of any records that can legally be disclosed while protecting legitimate privacy interests of victims and uninvolved individuals. Transparency is essential to maintaining public confidence in our institutions and ensuring that no individual is treated differently because of their status, position, or connections. Additionally, concerns have been raised by members of the public regarding the influence of foreign governments, lobbyists, and special interests on American policy and elected officials. While allegations should always be examined based on evidence rather than speculation, I believe Americans deserve strong oversight, transparency, and accountability regarding any potential foreign influence on governmental decision-making. Regardless of where these inquiries ultimately lead, public trust depends upon the willingness of our institutions to follow the facts, disclose information when appropriate, and hold all individuals accountable under the same standards of justice.
