Support Impeachment of HHS Secretary Kennedy to Protect Public Health

To: Sen. Padilla

I am writing to express my strong support for Congresswoman Haley Stevens' efforts to draft articles of impeachment against Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The actions taken by Secretary Kennedy since assuming office have put the health and safety of Americans, particularly Michiganders, at serious risk. Secretary Kennedy's reckless decisions have undermined the very foundations of our public health system. He has cut vital research funding for critical areas such as cancer, childhood cancer, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, and addiction studies. These cuts not only halt progress in medical breakthroughs but also directly impact the lives of countless individuals and families struggling with these conditions. Furthermore, Kennedy's suggestion to eliminate entire FDA departments and his firing of every member of the CDC's vaccine expert panel demonstrate a dangerous disregard for scientific expertise. These actions, coupled with his promotion of unfounded claims like linking Tylenol to autism, show a clear contempt for established medical knowledge and research. The consequences of Kennedy's actions are far-reaching. By ending public comment for HHS rulemaking, he has silenced the voices of medical professionals, patients, and concerned citizens. This lack of transparency and accountability is unacceptable for such a crucial government department. Secretary Kennedy's failure to carry out his statutory duties and keep promises made during his confirmation hearing further emphasizes his unfitness for office. His actions have made our country less safe and healthcare less affordable, directly contradicting the mission of the Department of Health and Human Services. I urge you to support Congresswoman Stevens' impeachment efforts. It is crucial that we prioritize science over chaos, facts over lies, and the health of our citizens over political ideology. The impeachment of Secretary Kennedy is not a partisan issue, but a matter of public health and safety. Swift action is necessary to restore integrity to the HHS and protect the well-being of all Americans.
