WA State Department of Natural Resources plans to aerially spray over 2,200 acres of forest with Roundup, a probable carcinogen, from a helicopter. Their reason? To kill off native trees and ferns so they can grow more timber for profit. Oh, and they approved their own permit, too! No independent review, no required public comment. DNR is acting as its own regulator, and parts of its operating budget depend on timber revenue. This is completely unacceptable. We demand an independent review of DNR's own permits.
