Support the HEADACHE Act to Improve Migraine Care and Research

To: Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Doggett

From: A constituent in Austin, TX

November 7

As one of the millions of Americans living with chronic migraine, I am writing to ask you to support the HEADACHE Act (Headache Education, Access, Diagnosis, and Care Health Equity Act). Migraine and other headache disorders are some of the most common and disabling neurological conditions, yet they continue to be underfunded, misunderstood, and often dismissed in both policy and medical practice. For people like me, migraine is not just a headache. It affects every part of daily life, from work and school to relationships and mental health. Despite how common and debilitating these conditions are, access to effective treatment is still limited, especially for those in rural or low-income communities. Many people face delayed diagnoses and struggle to find coordinated care. The HEADACHE Act would help change that by: • Advancing research to improve diagnosis and develop better treatments • Expanding access to care by addressing inequities and barriers to treatment • Coordinating federal efforts so agencies can work together on awareness, prevention, and care • Improving screening, education, and workforce training so more healthcare professionals can recognize and treat headache disorders effectively Passing this bill would be a major step toward treating migraine and other headache disorders as the serious public health issues they are. I hope you will consider co-sponsoring and supporting this important legislation. Thank you for your time and for listening to those of us who live with migraine every day.
