Stop Hegseth and support independent media

To: Sen. Alsobrooks, Sen. Van Hollen, Rep. Elfreth

From: A verified voter in Arnold, MD

March 13

I am writing to advocate for the protection and support of independent media organizations in the United States, particularly in light of proposed policy changes that could significantly impact press freedom and access to diverse information sources. Recent analysis of Project 2025's Section 8 on "Media Agencies" outlines proposals that would fundamentally alter the landscape of independent journalism in America. These proposals include: Defunding or dismantling major public broadcasting entities such as NPR, PBS, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting Restructuring the U.S. Agency for Global Media and its outlets (Voice of America, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Radio Martí) Imposing new regulatory constraints on the press, including calls to repeal Section 230 and limit advertising practices These proposals raise serious concerns about the future of independent journalism and the public's access to diverse, fact-based information. Stop project 2025 now! Link: https://substack.com/@redpencilscript/note/c-227200385?
