Today, Nebraskans protested. They protested Trump, they protested DOGE, they protested Musk, and they protested the illegal, illogical, and illicit things that you’ve helped to happen. Innocent people are being shipped out “by mistake" without due process and no hope of return. Our federal agencies and institutions are being gutted with no care for the dangerous fallout. Arbitrary math has caused long-term damage to the country's economy. The rich people that you want to give tax breaks to don't care and won’t blink when we lose our IRAs, our savings and our and 401(k)s. They won't notice because they’re golfing and attending million-dollar “candlelight” dinners and fundraisers. We - your constituents - are emailing, faxing, and mailing you day after day. We are your voters - everyday people who are watching our retirements dwindle and our social services dry up. We see intolerance, meanness, and craven indifference for the poor and elderly. We see you enabling the dismantling of our democracy. These protests around Nebraska, around the country, and around the world are to make sure you see us. To make sure you hear us. We are asking you to act because pretty soon, you might not be able to. The administration is making sure you won't be able to. And you are giving them that power. You need to stand up and stop DOGE, Musk, and Trump. Legislate, vote, impeach. Do something or be prepared to be replaced. Because we will vote and find people who care about us, people who represent the everyday people.
