Thank you for signing SB 79 into law. It’s a smart, grounded step that builds on the investments California has already made in housing and transit. You recognized that density near transit isn’t a theory and it’s the logical way to make our infrastructure work. This law will make it easier for people to live where the state has already invested billions in transportation. It will make our communities more connected, more sustainable, and more affordable. The next step is to broaden its scope and reach. We need these principles to apply across more of California so every region shares in the benefits of smarter growth.
