I am writing to urge you to strongly oppose any efforts—legislative or otherwise—to sell off, transfer, or privatize our national public lands. As your constituent and a supporter of public land access, I am deeply concerned by recent proposals that would threaten the future of these shared national treasures.
Public lands are a cornerstone of American heritage, providing vital access to outdoor recreation, including climbing, hiking, camping, and more. They support local economies, preserve critical wildlife habitats, and offer unparalleled opportunities for millions of Americans to connect with nature. Attempts to transfer these lands to state or private control put them at serious risk of being sold to the highest bidder, developed, or closed off to public use.
We need long-term protection and responsible stewardship of our public lands—not short-sighted policies that endanger their future. I respectfully urge you to stand with the millions of Americans who value and depend on public lands and to reject any measures that seek to transfer, sell, or undermine federal public land protections.
Thank you for your time and attention to this critical issue. I hope you will be a champion for our public lands.
