Vote against HB 2536

To: Rep. West, Sen. Schnelting, Gov. Kehoe

From: A constituent in Saint Peters, MO

April 26

House bill 2536 is unconstitutional discrimination. It seeks to enshrine hatred into law. I strongly urge you not to be part of this complete scapegoating and stereotyping. Trans people are not predators. I assure you trans people are scared of cis people in bathrooms and while cis people may be scared that is just prejudice. There is simply no data to support this. If we were going to stereotype people and make it law, we’d need to keep white people assigned male at birth out of schools to protect from school shootings and sex abuse. I think that’s the idea of house bill 2536 is just as ridiculous as that would be. Please do not give in to the public pressure to support hate. Bathrooms are just bathrooms. They are not places of sexual activity. If anyone is in a bathroom and wants to look at or verify any other persons genitals in the bathroom, that person is the problem.
