Please fix SB 71 before it is law!

Please fix SB 71 before it is law! Despite enormous opposition from Alabamians across the political spectrum, as you know, the Alabama Legislature passed SB 71 yesterday. If you sign this legislation, it would make it much more difficult for Alabama to protect our beautiful natural resources, the lakes and rivers we love to fish and boat in, the wildlife we love to hunt, the water we drink, and the air we breathe unless the federal government tells us what to do. There was bipartisan opposition in the House – Five Representatives broke with their party and voted against this bill, taking a stand against big business interests who would sacrifice the health of Alabamians and our environment for a quick buck. Now it is up to you, Governor Ivey to protect your legacy of promoting and supporting Alabama’s outdoor recreation assets – assets that provide tens of thousands of jobs, billions of dollars in economic impact, and that help strengthen communities across Alabama. Governor Ivey, your conservation and outdoor recreation legacy depends on exercising your executive amendment powers to fix the problems with SB 71! Please retain our state’s rights to protect our environment.
